MyLot.com is a forum-type community. It can be a bit overwhelming when you first sign up, but you can just take things slow. The first thing I recommend doing is to check out where it says "Interests" (which should be located near the top of the page towards the left of the screen, usually under a banner, but if you are having trouble, this link should work for you:
http://www.mylot.com/o/lists.aspx).

Simply click the little "Add" link next to the category and some selections will appear, and then hit the (+) to add it, which is a green icon on my screen above the interest you are selecting.

I recommend writing a discussion just so you can see how it works... It can be very fun and addictive if you like this kind of site!
At the top of the page you can see a link that says "New Discussion." That should take you to a page which shows some of your interests, but you can also select "General Discussion" at the very bottom of that page if you are unsure which category to write into.

Of course, there is a category for MyLot.com itself, and many newbies go there to ask questions:

Once you get past the initial part of selecting some interest categories you won't have to worry too much about setting it up anymore. I hope this has helped. Please let me know if you have some more questions and I will be happy to try to answer any of them for you. : )
